Since restoring 86259 it has always been my desire to see it featured on the front cover of a railway journal. This has not (yet) happened but imagine my surprise and joy when I learned that Rail Express had chosen to use a photo of 86259 taken on its epic run on 3rd & 4th August 2013 down the West Coast Mainline, across to Edinburgh and then up to London with its Scottish passengers for the Prudential RideLondon weekend, returning on the following Monday.
Despite the title on this page, it is not a calendar devoted entirely to my loco (I should be so lucky!) but a series of 12 monthly photographs of railway engines with 86259 on the cover, given away free with the magazine.
