Birmingham New Street is my local Main Line station and with 12 platforms (each capable of holding 2 complete trains) and additional 'through' lines it is a spotter's paradise, or nightmare, as the case may be. Currently undergoing major refurbishment, it is located at the very heart of the city and was within a mile or so from me for the majority of my radio-broadcasting career. My webmaster, Jim, happened across these photos on sharpos-world.co.uk which he thought might be worth a page on the site. At sharpos there are, in fact, 102 photos from different locations around Birmingham and around the rest of the system featuring Class 86 locomotives. Click to go there
